Beginning in the Bay Area, CFJC and Food First issued a call to action in California communities to Take Back Our Food System. Launched at the 15th Annual Food Justice conference in Oakland in 2011, our call to action celebrates local food justice activities. We are organizing events throughout California in 2012 that spark discussion, connect people to issues and each other, build solutions and culminate in a People’s Food Justice Summit. All of CFJC’s grassroots efforts are about building the movement to Take Back Our Food System.
